If you're a professional or amateur photographer who loves outdoor photography, you must have experienced the challenge of keeping your hands warm while capturing the perfect shot. Photography often requires you to stand outside in cold and harsh weather conditions for hours, and if your hands get cold, it becomes challenging to hold the camera and make necessary adjustments. That's where Vallerret Photography's Tinden gloves come into play. In this review, I will share my experience using the Vallerret Photography Tinden gloves during my Antarctica trip and why I highly recommend them to any outdoor photographer.
The first thing I noticed about the Tinden gloves is their high-quality build and design. The gloves are made of durable and breathable material that is both windproof and waterproof. The palm of the glove is made of genuine leather, which provides a comfortable grip on the camera and other equipment. The gloves also have adjustable wrist straps that ensure a secure fit and prevent snow and cold air from entering the glove. Overall, the Tinden gloves are well-designed, durable, and provide excellent protection against the harsh weather conditions in Antarctica.
During my Antarctica trip, the temperature could be dropped below -5°C even in Summer season, and the winds were strong and icy. However, the Tinden gloves kept my hands warm and comfortable throughout the day. The gloves are insulated with Primaloft, a synthetic insulation material that is known for its excellent thermal properties. The gloves also have a removable inner liner that can be worn separately, providing additional warmth and comfort. I found the gloves to be incredibly comfortable to wear, and the genuine leather palm provided a secure and comfortable grip on my camera.
One of the significant concerns I had before using the Tinden gloves was the accessibility and functionality of the gloves. As a photographer, I need to make adjustments on my camera frequently, and I was worried that the gloves would make it challenging to do so. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to operate my camera while wearing the gloves. The gloves have a flip-over index finger and thumb, which allows for easy access to camera controls and touchscreens. The gloves also have a small pocket on the back of the hand, which is perfect for storing memory cards, batteries, or other small items.
