When I am working on wedding assignments as a photojournalist, documenting wedding stories, it is crucial for me that the bride and groom, their families and guests, control the flow of the wedding. If the photographer starts giving directions, the photographer will have hijacked the wedding, rather than letting the day naturally unfold.

The 56mm F1.2 lens is the lens that I was so eager to buy as soon as it was announced. By having the 56mm (85mm equivalent) in my bag, Fujifilm is giving me a like for like substitution of my Nikon 85mm f1.4 that I used. The size of the 56mm lens is reasonable and is about half the size (and half the cost!) comparing to my old Nikon 85mm f1.4, it can sit on my spider holster if I wanted it to. I take a little while to get use to this lens, but paired it with X-T1and a keen eye it can make superb images. It also give me the reach to capture the intimate moments of a wedding when the time that I don't want to get too close.
